Utilities Food Drive Challenge

Thank you for helping BVES, Inc. fight hunger this holiday season by joining us for the 5th annual Utilities Food Drive Challenge. BVES, Inc., along with Big Bear Lake Department of Water and Power, Big Bear Area Regional Wastewater Agency, Big Bear Municipal Water District and Big Bear Disposal, gathered 4,188 donations of nonperishable items to fill the shelves of our local food bank.

The month-long food drive concluded with a Chili Cook-off and Ping-Pong Tournament hosted by the utilities on Nov. 22, 2019, from 5-8 p.m. at St. Joseph's Church, where community members and employees participated in a night full of food and fun. The event was open to the public, with a required entrance fee of five canned goods or $5. New this year, the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station and Big Bear Fire Department went head to head in their own a ping-pong challenge, resulting in a victory for the firefighters.
