UPDATE: Southern California Edison (SCE) is still monitoring transmission lines serving Bear Valley Electric Service for a potential Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) this weekend.

The period of concern has been extended from 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, through 3 a.m. Monday, Sept. 28. If this changes again, we’ll keep you updated. The SCE team indicated that due to high winds, there is a possibility that the event could extend further into next week. As a reminder, if the power is shut off in the nighttime hours, it will likely not be turned back on until morning due to SCE scouting protocols.

No outage has been confirmed at this time. However, if SCE de-energizes the lines, BVES will have limited capacity, and some or all customers may experience an outage. BVES will continue monitoring conditions and notify customers of significant changes.
