On Monday, August 10, 2026, the Big Bear Valley may experience an outage from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM while Southern California Edison (SCE) performs maintenance on the main power line that serves the area. During this period, Bear Valley will utilize all available resources to meet local energy needs; however, some customers may still experience service interruptions or rolling blackouts. BVES will coordinate closely with SCE to minimize impacts on the system.

This maintenance is part of SCE’s grid‑hardening efforts, aimed at reducing the risk of ignitions and improving reliability, including the criteria for initiating Public Safety Power Shutoffs on this line.
